Sewing for Summer
Summer sewing is difficult for me as I am caught up on how to sew inside and garden outside at the same time
If the weather is nice I want to be outdoors as the winter was so very long
If not so nice as it has been very rainy this year, I want to sew ...,
Right now I am sewing a beach coverup in a burn out sheer monotone ivory shade that has been on the cutting table too long. Then to machine embroider a few gifts to take on my trip west
Hoping to get so inspired with the scenic colors and view from my train window as I cross Canada, I will keep you up to date more frequently
At least this is my goal or the next few weeks

Sewing for the Holidays
Each year I tell myself that I will start my new outfit for the holiday season about August
I search the new pattern books and fashion magazines to come up with the perfect dress, jacket and relaxed ensemble for entertaining and headed to the festive parties.
Then life takes over and plans get set aside as does the fabric selections and then here it is
December and no new fashion statements ready to wear
So here is what to do

The year had been so busy I lost track of my blog!
I am busy in my home studio teaching since selling the shop in March this year.
Miss all of you but my home studio is now open.
Each Monday afternoon from 1 to 4 and beginning 2013 every Wednesday and Thursday 10 -4
Bring a lunch and learn a new sewing skill or let me coach you as we work on projects together.
What fun sewing is and my classes at St. Lawrence College in Kingston plus Algonquin College campus in Perth have been exceptional finding many new sewers in the area.
Love that so many want to sew!
Each week I will do my best to showcase my work and the work of those sewing with me.
Baby Lock machines are still available and still used in the studio workshops.

Just returned from the Creativfestival ...lots of exciting new products
Lots of sewing ideas and I am now ready for a lot of Machine Embroidery.
We have formed a group of people interested in sewing on their embroidery machines and sharing ideas. Let us know if you are interested also
I am thrilled with the latest Baby Lock Ellisimo so drop by the shop and check it out

This will be the last day of our sewing workshop on reversible jackets with Kathryn Brenne.
Fabulous tips and the projects by the students are wonderful.
We will continue to bring you several more sewing workshops at the shop or the college in 2012
So let us know what type of fashion sewing you are interested in .
* since the strike continues at the colleges , the Con Ed classes have been cancelled for this fall
I will be teaching all the classes at the shop beginning Sept 27 6-9
